    Will Adamson (he/him)

Founder and Co-owner, CEO, Lord High Commander

I am the founder and co-owner of Wolf Den Games. I’ve been interested in games and puzzles since childhood. I was an avid consumer of comic books through high school, but didn’t get into D&D until the Army. We played a lot of AD&D and Magic: The Gathering in the Army. I didn’t discover miniatures until buying the Warhammer 40k 5th edition starter set around 2010, but I’ve been hooked ever since.

My goal with Wolf Den Games is to bring the friendly local game store experience to my adopted home town of Abingdon. My wife and I decided that we wanted to raise our kids here fifteen years ago, and this is where I want to share my love of games.

    Dave Carroll (he/him)

Co-owner, COO/CTO, Impressario of Board Games

I started out as a friend of Will’s and a huge fan of the shop. (Actually he was playing in the D&D campaign I was running at the time.) In May 2022 I came onboard as co-owner.

My prior careers range from software development in skyscraper offices to teaching choirs right here in Washington County, VA. I’m an “Xennial” who grew up in a family that celebrated classic card, word, and board games. My first RPG experience was 2nd Ed. Advanced D&D in middle school with my Boy Scout friends.

In 2000 a game of Settlers of Catan introduced me to modern hobby board games and I haven’t looked back. I love hosting gaming events and parties — I get almost as much joy introducing others to games as I do actually playing them.

Expertise: Board Games, RPGs, Party/Folk Games, Event Planning

Grand Duchess of Events, Senior TTRPG Game Master

I have studied many different things, worked many different jobs, and have always had a lot of intersectional interests. I’ve never been involved with anything as fun or rewarding as my work at Wolf Den Games.

I ran the first subscription game at Wolf Den in the spring of 2022. In Fall 2023 I was thrilled to step up to the plate as a full- time team member at the shop.

Working as a GM is an incredible passion and pleasure, and is a rewarding creativity outlet. There’s nothing quite like crafting a story with my players. I love to foster our amazing community, and grow in my own knowledge and skill to help Wolf Den Games live long and prosper.

Expertise: D&D 5e, Customer Experience, Storytelling, World-Building, an encyclopedic knowledge of random facts.

Likes to GM: D&D 5e, Powered by the Apocalypse style games, and games set in or inspired by historical content.

    George Blalock (he/him)

    Retail Manager, Token TCG Player

I was a fan of and regular at Wolf Den Games for several years, and I was thrilled when Will and Dave asked me to join them full-time in late 2025. I spent most of my prior working life in various customer-facing roles in food service and corporate environments.

Tabletop games have been a primary hobby of mine since middle school lunch table GURPS sessions, and they’re one of my family’s favorite ways to connect. I grew up playing classic board games (Stop Thief was a favorite), and took up M:TG in college when my roommates and I bought “Journey into Nyx” starter decks.

Being a part of the community at Wolf Den Games has been a highlight of my gaming experience, and I’m excited to be jumping in and joining the staff for what comes next!

Expertise: TTRPGs, Board Games, not cheating at Magic: The Gathering.

    Mason Finchum (he/him)

Forever DM since 2011, and I've ran many a game ever since. Firm believer in that it's never too late to learn something new. From the rainbow-soaked fields of Thirsty Sword Lesbians, to solving the mystery of the Monster of Week, or even jumping behind the screen for the familiar dice rolling of Dungeons and Dragons, I enjoy too many games to list here. XD

The biggest thing about running games for Wolf Den is that I'm always learning new tricks/approaches to GMing, and that I'm always excited to meet new players/people and introduce them to this wonderful hobby.

I excel at storytelling, world building, improvisation, and adding a bit of sass and magic to anything I do. My worlds are vast and unique, and the players are the true stars. What lasting impact will you have on our worlds that we remember for years to come? I look forward to us finding out together.

I LOVE running Daggerheart. I thoroughly enjoy running Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Fallout 2d20, Monster of the Week, Mazes, Fabula Ultima, and Cowboy Bebop RPG.

Wolf Den is where I was introduced to Tabletop Gaming and is the warmest and most welcoming game shop I have been to. I am grateful to see such an amazing place in my little town!
