Will Adamson, Founder, CEO, Lord High Commander
I am the founder and co-owner of Wolf Den Games. I’ve been interested in games and puzzles since childhood. I was an avid consumer of comic books through high school, but didn’t get into D&D until the Army. We played a lot of AD&D and Magic: The Gathering in the Army. I didn’t discover miniatures until buying the Warhammer 40k 5th edition starter set around 2010, but I’ve been hooked ever since.
My goal with Wolf Den Games is to bring the friendly local game store experience to my adopted home town of Abingdon. My wife and I decided that we wanted to raise our kids here fifteen years ago, and this is where I want to share my love of games.

I started as a friend of Will’s and a huge fan of the shop when he founded it in 2021. (Actually he was playing in the D&D campaign I was running at the time.) In May 2022 we made my role official and I came onboard as co-owner.
In prior careers I’ve been a software developer in big cities and a choir teacher right here in Washington County. I’m an “Xennial” who grew up in a family that celebrated classic card, word, and board games. My first RPG experience was AD&D 2e during middle and high school thanks to my Boy Scout buddies.
Two decades ago a game of Settlers of Catan started me on the long road of recovery out of video game binge addiction and into the world of modern board games. My personal collection is “big” if you don’t know the hobby, and only modest if you do! I love hosting gaming events and parties — I get almost as much joy introducing others to games as I do actually playing them!
Expertise: Board Games, RPGs, Party/Folk Games, Event Planning

I handle the boring stuff, I work the cash register and toss myself under applicable busses. I got really lucky to have an amazing job like this with such passionate employers. I’ve been involved with RPG’s for most of my life, and began with Tabletops 6 years ago. I now have a basic understanding of almost every system we have in the store. (That isn’t a brag, if anything it proves I have no life.)
In all seriousness, I don’t have a spectacular background. I’m pretty average. That is until someone happens to bring up interesting character ideas, rules, or pretty much anything involving modern TTRPGs. The owners are passionate about this business and I am just as passionate about our products and the overall consumer experience. I won’t sell something that wouldn’t benefit our customers.

I have studied many different things, have worked many different jobs, and I have always had a lot of intersectional interests. I haven’t ever been involved with anything this fun or rewarding as my work at Wolf Den Games.
Working as a GM is an incredible passion and pleasure, and is a rewarding creativity outlet. There’s nothing quite like cooperating with other creative people to craft a story together. I have loved getting to know this growing community that is full of heart and geeky joy.
In Fall 2023 I was thrilled to step up to the plate as a full- time employee of the shop.I hope to help Dave and Will continue to foster our amazing community, and grow in my own knowledge and skill to help Wolf Den Games live long and prosper.
