The Progress Pride flag was developed in 2018 by non-binary American artist and designer Daniel Quasar. Based on the iconic rainbow flag from 1978, the redesign celebrates the diversity of the LGBTQ community and calls for a more inclusive society.

We run our shop with two values that we think are quintessentially Southwest Virginia: “Everyone’s welcome” and “don’t be a jerk.”

This applies especially to all our friends, family members, regulars, and newcomers who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

In August 2023 a horrific incident occurred in California in which a store owner was shot and killed during a dispute with a person who tore down the pride flag which hung outside her shop.

Our response was to make this page a permanent part of our website, and to fly our progress pride flag as often as we can. We will not hide in response to hatred. Love is bigger than fear.
